Throughout my career, I've learned the value and importance of local news. From covering high school athletics as a weekend sports anchor/reporter, going live 'on the go' as a feature reporter, and waking up anchoring the morning show, I have developed a range of skills that make me a complete multimedia journalist; allowing me to thrive in a constantly evolving media landscape.
One of my favorite aspects of the job is being able to engage with new people every day. I have found that getting out in the community helps viewers connect with my work on a more personal level. As a reporter, it is also essential to find and gather stories. As a journalist, I believe there is great importance on storytelling, but even more so doing it fairly and accurately and without prejudice.
My background both playing and covering sports has instilled in me a competitive drive to win. It has taught me the value of hard work, teamwork, and strong communication. I believe these are essential skills in this highly competitive business.
